Day one of the 2016 NHL Draft had to be a shocker for Oilers fans. In the days leading up to the draft there had been endless rumours about what the Oilers might do with their pick, and in the end they did what I think most expected them to do with it, they used it. Who they used it on was very unexpected. Jesse Puljujarvi, what the hell was he still doing on the board at fourth overall? Who cares, he's a member of the Oilers know.
The Oilers enter day two of the draft with eight picks, four of which come in the next 61 selections. Ideally Peter Chiarelli can turn a package involving those picks into a living, breathing, NHL player and not just four prospects. We'll have to wait and see.
