In the first period of tonight's Oilers/Jets game Dustin Byfuglien drove to the Oilers net around Andrej Sekera. Byfuglien didn't get a shot off on the play but did collide with Brandon Davidson and the knee of the Oilers blue liner bent in a way that you'd rather a knee didn't bend.
There has been no official announcement on the severity of the injury but we do know, thanks to the Oilers twitter account, that Davidson won't return to action tonight. Here's hoping that for once the Oilers catch a break and this isn't as bad as it looks.
#Oilers d-man Brandon Davidson will not return. #EDMvsWPG
