Hall - Hopkins - Eberle Smyth - Horcoff - Jones Paajarvi - Belanger - Omark Eager - Lander - Petrell Whitney - Gilbert Barker - Smid Sutton - Potter Dubnyk Hall is a gametime decision as he's come down with the flu.
Hey, peeps. Trying to aquire a lil' traffic for a new Oilers Blog. I try a funny, adult look at all things Oil. Latest is about the "cycle." Check it out.
Ryan Martindale has an assist and eight shots on goal through his first two games with Stockton. His eight shots are second on the team after right wing Kevin Baker's ten.
Brule is day-to-day. He was scratched Friday and Saturday and will likely be a scratch today as well. The team hasn't said much about the issue, since Coach Todd Nelson mentioned Brule had an upper body condition on Wednesday. Our own Neal Livingston on Gilbert Brule's status in Oklahoma City. Brule has only appeared in one game thus far.
I just realized that Horcoff's No Movement Clause expires at the same time that our young gunz contract's expire......... Derek Zona I'll transfer you 10 Canadian Dollars if Horcoff DOESN"T get sent to the minors that year.
Hockey's Future is finished its top 50 countdown of NHL prospects. Edmonton placed 2 in the top 50, with RNH at #1 and Klefbom at 47. By comparision, Philly had 2 in the top 11, Ottawa had 4 in the top 50, with Florida, NYR and the Devils each with 3 in the top 50.
Ryan Martindale didn't play in Oklahoma City's opening game of the season, and as it turns out, he may not be playing with the Barons for a while. The team has announced that they've assigned Martindale to Stockton of the ECHL where he'll no doubt get plenty of ice time to work on his game, and potentially adjust to a new position (if the Oilers see him as a winger). As someone who's been pretty bullish on Martindale over the last year, I expect that he'll show well.
But Katz says he has been advised that there is already a location agreement in place. "It's called a lease, and it goes until 2014." There will be no separate piece of paper signed called a location agreement, he says. Katz says it's ridiculous to suggest he would ever move the team. "There's no better hockey market than Edmonton... Why would you leave a city that supports the team, that is crazy about hockey, that has a legacy? Why would you go anywhere? Where would you go? It makes no sense to me. This whole location agreement thing, to me, was just absolutely arbitrary."In light of Ryan's article this morning and the New York meeting in general, I bring you this article from June of 2008. In the article, Daryl Katz is responding to guys like Bill Butler who wanted him to sign a location agreement. Amazing how a narrative can change, isn't it?
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Tuesday the club has claimed defenseman Taylor Chorney off waivers from the Edmonton Oilers. In addition, defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo has been placed on Injured Reserve after suffering an upper body injury in the second period of the Blues’ season opener on Saturday, Oct. 8 vs. Nashville. Colaiacovo will be eligible to return to the lineup this Sunday, Oct. 16 when the Blues visit the Anaheim Ducks. Chorney, 24, posted four points (1 goal, 3 assists) in 12 games with the Edmonton Oilers and 16 points (3 goals, 13 assists) in 46 games with the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Oklahoma City Barons last season. Overall, the 6’1, 189-pound defenseman has accumulated seven points including a goal and six assists in 56 career NHL games with Edmonton. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native was originally drafted by Edmonton in the second round, 36th overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. *** Quick, someone check the panic room for Tambellini.
Of course I write songs about Wayne Gretzky in my free time and my friends make videos with them. What do you do with your free time?
