Morning, everyone! Hope you had a good weekend.

First thing’s first: click HERE to vote for your Top 25 Under 25. Voting will stay open until sometime on Friday afternoon, and the results will be revealed — player by player — as we work our way from our #25 to #1 on starting that same day. Please do vote, inquiring minds want to know precisely what you think about names like Aapeli Rasanen and Michael Kesselring.

Secondly, how about the Carolina Hurricanes tendering an offer sheet to Jesperi Kotkaniemi, basically strictly for the pettiness, as retaliation for Montreal’s offer sheet to Sebastian Aho a few years back? Amazing theatre.

I think the offer itself is actually bad for Carolina, as most public models suggest Kotkaniemi is a ~20th percentile WAR player who has benefitted greatly from a 20%+ shooting percentage in limited postseason action. A player worth about 33% of $6.1MM at best. But, you never know: maybe Montreal matches? In either case, it’s riveting TV and the most entertaining thing to happen in an NHL offseason in what feels like forever. The pettiness is so, so thick:

LOL.
