Jesse Puljujärvi had a bit of a breakout campaign last season, (generously) pacing for somewhere around the ~40 point mark over an 82 game season playing in a feature EV role alongside Connor McDavid and, at times, Leon Draisaitl. Is he due to take another step offensively? Is Zach Hyman (or, god forbid, Zack Kassian) going to take his job at EV, putting a cap on his production? Will he see any PP1 time at all?
So many questions.
In other news, while the Edmonton Oilers haven’t made it official just yet, expect to require a COVID-19 vaccination inside of you to get you inside of Rogers Place this season. The Calgary Flames have announced a vaccine mandate for all staff and patrons for the 2021-22 season, and it is expected that Edmonton will follow suit.
News broke over the weekend regarding the tragic passing of Edmonton Oil Kings forward Caleb Reimer, along with two other young men — Ronin Sharma and Parker Magnuson — on Saturday morning. 16 years old. Absolutely tragic. Condolences to all of their families, friends, teammates, coaches, etc.
Yesterday, former NHLer Jimmy Hayes passed away at his home at the age of 31. By all accounts, Hayes was ‘one of the good ones’ and will be dearly missed. Condolences to everyone impacted.
