Morning, folks.

Yesterday CB re-opened the Ethan Bear case. I don’t want to re-litigate that in any way, so I’ll leave it at: he will be desperately missed and that deal hurt me like the Taylor Hall trade. It has fundamentally changed my relationship to the Oilers and I’m not sure it will change.

Fool me once, and all that.

Moving on. I’ve been off for a couple of weeks, and during my hiatus the Oilers re-signed Darnell Nurse to a monstrous extension.

From where I sit, that deal is almost a guarantee to be among the worst in the NHL, and very possibly as early as next season.
