Morning, folks!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I didn’t. I spent far too much of it trying to convnce people that Duncan Keith isn’t good anymore and no serious team with any sort of ambition should be acquiring him at all, let alone paying a price of any kind for the privilege.

It didn’t go that well.

Imagine trying to explain to people that 2 + 2 = 4 and then hearing, over and over again, that 4 knows how to win and is in the best shape of its life and could slot in on the second pairing in 2021. That 4’s leadership is the missing link between the Oilers and a dynasty’s worth of championships.

Funny how nobody’s really linking 4’s leadership to the heinous sexual assault case and cover up in Chicago right now — you know, the one every guy on the team knew about. Funnier how nobody mentions the dynasty’s worth of championships on the Oilers’ front office payroll already and how they’ve never translated on the ice.

I miss when they re-signed Nuge. That was a nice 15 minutes.
