As of this moment, there are exactly 83 days until the regular season begins again.

The Oilers have released their 2021-22 regular season schedule, and it begins with Vancouver visiting Rogers Place in just under twelve weeks from today.

Some highlights:

  • The home opener takes place against Vancouver on October 13th, a Wednesday. New Oiler Duncan Keith (and maybe a few others) will take the ice looking for the first two points of the season.
  • The season’s first Battle of Alberta happens the very next game as the Calgary Flames are in town on Saturday, October 16th.
  • The Seattle Kraken visit Edmonton for the first time in the 2021-22 regular season on Monday, November 1st.
  • The Oilers will get a visit from Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins exactly one month later with a visit on December 1st.
  • The Oilers have two homestands that last six games, one in December and another one in March.
  • The Oilers close it up with a home visit from the San Jose Sharks on April 28th, hopefully they’ve punched their tickets to the playoffs weeks before.
