Morning, folks.

These aren’t going to be that joyful for the next little while. How long? I’m not sure, but at least as long as news keeps coming out that steals my joy.

Like Ken Holland’s press conference yesterday. That was brutal. Listening to that was more depressing than watching the Oilers lose to a bad — yes, bad — Winnipeg Jets team.

Yes, that makes the Oilers bad, too.

So picture stewing on that press conference in the afternoon, and then making the decision to put your phone down for the rest of the day, only to wake up this morning to find out DEFINITIVELY that Taylor Hall would have waived for teams other than Boston:

There is no joy here.

I can’t even enjoy playoff runs right now. Throughout game four, in the back of my mind, I was thinking that if they won that game by dressing Kris Russell, that meant watching more elimination games with Kris Russell. I couldn’t even enjoy the game, and that’s before they lost it.

There is no joy here.

Fire Ken Holland. Before, or at the same time, as they fire Bob Nicholson and Dave Tippett and Kevin Lowe and on and on and on and on and on.

Better yet? Sell the team. Daryl Katz was pumped for the state of the team, a team that’s as bad — or worse — with Connor McDavid on the ice than it was three years ago.

He’s an idiot, too.
