Josh Archibald has been suspended for one game. He’ll miss tonight’s game against the Jets for what’s being called “clipping” on Logan Stanley. Archibald went in for what looked like a hip check, but ended up getting a wee bit too close to Stanley’s knees on the play.
Archibald would serve two minutes for the infraction. The Jets would score on the ensuing power play to cut the Oilers’ lead to a 4-2 margin. You will remember what ended up happening after that, so I’ll leave you a video of a street food vendor in London to try and divert your attention. Archibald currently has three shots and two PIMs in three games played this series.
I’d wager a nickel that Alex Chiasson will be back in Archibald’s absence. Alex Chiasson was a healthy scratch in game 4, and is an easy go-to for Tippett. Archibald has spent a bunch of time on the top power play unit, which is another reason why I think he’d be Edmonton’s first winger back in.
Should the Oilers win tonight in Winnipeg, Archibald would be eligible to return for game 5 on Wednesday back in Edmonton. Let’s get through tonight first.
