First thing’s first: it’s GAMEDAY. The Oilers are back in action tonight for the first time since Friday night, with a big game in Montreal before two more gimmies in Ottawa on Wednesday and Friday.

The talk this weekend surrounded the Oilers and their handling of Evan Bouchard. Reporting from The Athletic suggests that Evan Bouchard won’t get another game this season barring injury, and this morning guys like LT are suggesting it’s not that big of a deal, in part because Bouchard played — and practiced — a fair bit in Sweden.
My thoughts are — show me even one other organization that would handle their top organizational prospect like this in his D+3 season. He’s 21 years old. He was drafted like 1000 days ago. Almost all of his peers from that draft are playing real NHL minutes today.
Neither the Oilers — or guys like Tyson Barrie or Kris Russell or William Lagesson for that matter — are good enough to sacrifice such an important season. The Oilers doing their goddamnedest to bring a shit team to the playoffs because anything can happen is just such pathetic thinking I cannot possibly support the long-term employment of either Ken Holland or Dave Tippett given their body of work here.
Your mileage may vary, but I’m done.
