Morning, folks!
After what feels like eons, the Oilers are back in action tonight after a typically long — and always depressing — bus ride into Winnipeg for a likely playoff preview against the Jets.
The Oilers, so far, have had their number this season and they’ll look to continue that trend tonight and again on Wednesday before they most likely meet in the post season.
Recently recalled Ryan McLeod seems likely to make his NHL debut tonight. Evan Bouchard, still the Oilers’ best prospect and now roughly 60 days removed since his last game action, seems unlikely to play tonight, which is a travesty. He should be playing in every single game from here to the end of the season and, honestly, barring a couple of struggle weeks, should be playing in the playoffs, too. Why even one person seems content to sacrifice Evan Bouchard’s key age-21 season at the altar of Tyson Barrie’s minutes is something I’ll never understand. It’s just horrendous.
Anyway, enough of that. Let’s get that W.
