After a slow one-game week, the Oilers double their pleasure this week, with a whooping two games! They’re both against the Canadiens, who have not brought out the best in Oilers so far this season.
Let’s see how the odds look:
Monday, April 19th: Montreal Canadiens vs Edmonton Oilers
My model: Oilers (50%), Habs (50%)
Bet 365 odds: Oilers (1.76), Habs (2.10)
Implied odds: Oilers (54%), Habs (46%)
The Habs look like a decent bet to me as decent underdogs. I think these teams are pretty close. However, it is encouraging that the gambling industry (who use much better models than mine) find the Oilers to be decent favourites against Montreal as of now. That hasn’t been the case for the majority of this season.
Wednesday, April 21st: Montreal Canadiens vs Edmonton Oilers
Oilers (50%), Habs (50%)
Meanwhile, in CondorsTown...
The Condors won three of four games last week, and seem to be back on track after a bit of a midseason stumble following their big winning streak. They may take half a step back offensively going forward, due to the call up of Ryan McLeod, who will no longer center Benson and Marody on the best line in the AHL this season.
They have three games on deck this week. Let’s see how they shape up?
Tuesday, April 20th: Bakersfield Condors @ Henderson Silver Knights
Henderson (55%), Bakersfield (45%)
Thursday, April 22nd: Bakersfield Condors @ Henderson Silver Knights
Henderson (55%), Bakersfield (45%)
Saturday, April 24th, Ontario Reign @ Bakersfield Condors
Bakersfield (74%), Ontario (26%)
Best of luck to you all this week, my friends.
