Took most of the day off yesterday on the ol’ Twitter dot com as Jeff returned to ‘the trenches’ on zero hours of sleep to mix it up with the masses. I enjoyed the break, it has to be said. I could get used to not having to repeat myself in conversations that, admittedly, I court sometimes.
(I wouldn’t have to if people just got it. It’s been almost 10 years of saying the same things, and still people think I’m the moron for wanting the Oilers to be better than 13th past the halfway point of the Connor McDavid control years.)
Edmonton is expected to return to the ice tomorrow night against the barely healthy Vancouver Canucks, but yesterday T.J. Miller came out in opposition to the idea — because nobody in charge seems interested:
“I hope people don’t take this the wrong way, I’m a super competitive guy... but this isn’t about hockey for our team. This is about the health and safety of our players, their family and their children. This isn’t about making the playoffs.” - J.T. Miller #Canucks— Thomas Drance (@ThomasDrance) April 14, 2021
#Canucks players and the NHLPA held a Zoom teleconference on Wednesday evening, I'm told.— Thomas Drance (@ThomasDrance) April 15, 2021
At this point the NHL, the Canucks and the Oilers expect Friday's game to be played, but I get the sense that tomorrow could be interesting.
