Body language, ‘hard questions’, and other Oilers bits and bobs to get you set for the weekend. PLUS: Rest in Peace, Walter Gretzky.

Morning, folks!

First:

RIP Walter Gretzky.

As is fast becoming Friday tradition around here, I’m going to say I’ll be brief before taking too long to shut the hell up.

The major story for most of yesterday, as far as I could see it anyway, continued to be this weird wagon-circling from the local writers as the fanbase took Leon Draisaitl’s side in Sarcasticgate. I know I should be able to relate to this next point in some way, but that all of these guys continue to have the platforms they do to spew the garbage they do is astounding. Truly boggling.

For 15+ years, these guys have only asked the teenagers and the superstars the hard questions while the Andrew Ferences, the Bob Nicholsons, the Kevin Lowes and the Daryl Katzes seem still to be absolved of any of the responsibility that should accompany icing the actual worst team in the fucking league for over a decade.

Happy Friday.
