Alex Chiasson was suspended for one game after his dangerous late hit on Jimmy Vesey in yesterday’s 3-0 loss to the Maple Leafs. Chiasson got up in Vesey’s grill and cross-checked him after the final buzzer which earned him a major penalty, prompting a hearing today. Chiasson received a one game suspension, and will miss tomorrow’s game versus Toronto.

Like the rest of the Oilers, Chiasson has been held scoreless in his last two games. He had a pretty nice clip where he scored seven points in his eight previous games, but he’ll be on the outside looking in for Wednesday’s game.

Devin Shore was spotted on the fourth line alongside on a line with Kyle Turris and Joakim Nygärd during practice today. Chiasson took reps with Gaetan Haas and Patrick Russell.

The Oilers will host the Maple Leafs tomorrow night for the final of three games. Edmonton hopes their fortunes will change as they look to pick up two points for the first time since defeating Vancouver on Thursday.
