Morning, folks!

Hope we’re still feeling alright after the Oilers first loss in a hot minute on Saturday night, as Thatcher Demko rode the horseshoe in his small intestine all the way to a regulation W for Vancouver. That happens sometimes.

The key is not letting happen tonight, when our heroes touch down in Alberta’s toilet for two quick games to kick off a busy week for Edmonton.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: trade Tyson Barrie. Not that I needed his looking off BOTH of Edmonton’s Hart Trophy winners to fire a flimsy wrist shot from a billion feet away to be sure, but it’s so obviously the best path forward for me. Especially while Evan Bouchard continues to miss out on crucial games in what has already been a very weird season for him.

For anyone struggling to imagine, consider:

  • Taylor Hall == Zack Kassian + Alex Chiasson + Devin Shore
  • Joran Eberle == James Neal
  • Mat Barzal == made $863K before this season.

They were so close to being incredible. Anyone ever wondering why I’m so bitter all the time just look at that lineup, and consider that they would have had it if they simply did NOTHING after drafting Connor McDavid. That roster would have just happened organically. It kills me.

Anyway, let’s beat the shit out of Calgary tonight.
