Morning, folks!

I don’t know about you but I’m exhausted this morning. These 8PM mid-week starts are already proving challenging. At some point in my life I can guarantee these will be too late for me. Feeling for Winnipeg fans, too, who had to wait until 9PM local to watch last night’s game. Could you imagine?! No thanks.

Corey said most of the things that I would about the game last night. I was wary of Russell and Larsson being together — and super pissed that Caleb Jones didn’t draw in again — but in terms of xGF%, the pair had a good night. They were outshot and outchanced per Natural Stat Trick, but the Oilers did take a lead around the four minute mark so that’s gonna happen. Only Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jesse Puljujarvi, and Slater Koekkoek were at or north of 50% CF% last night.

Mike Smith was stout enough once again improving to 3-0-0 on the season with a sparkling 0.938 SV% through four starts. Three good performances and one nightmare. Hopefully that ratio continues or, dare I say, gets better moving forward.
