NUMBER NINE, NUMBER NINE
The Oilers are rolling right along thanks to their power play and their goaltending. Winners in eight of their first nine games to start the season, they’ll look to make it nine of ten with another win after Kevin Lowe’s number 4 is raised to the rafters.
THREE THINGS TO LOOK FOR
- The powerplay continues to sizzle. At over 46%, it’s where the Oilers are making their bread. I’d fear for my well-being if I were the Rangers on the PK tonight.
- The Oilers are going back to Mikko Koskinen in net one more time. Koskinen has played every minute since Mike Smith went down with a lower body injury on October 19th. The Rangers are countering with Alexandar Georgiev, which is a bit of a surprise. Georgiev has a .873 SV% in two games (1-1-0) so far this season.
- 97/29: Leon Draisaitl has taken the lead in league scoring as his three point outburst against Nashville gives him 20 on the year. Connor McDavid trails by just one point at 19. Will Leon keep the lead tonight? Will McDavid score in bunches?
A win tonight will give the Oilers nine wins in ten. Let’s get at it.
