FINAL TUNE-UPS?

The Oilers will play the Canucks tonight at home, they’ll travel to Vancouver on Saturday as the preseason winds down. Let’s check out tonight’s lines and see what we can expect.

  • ALL THAT JUICE: Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid are together again with Jesse Puljujärvi on the top line. That line is going to put in work.
  • TOP SIX TURRIS: Kailer Yamamoto is being held out of tonight’s contest after taking a hit to the head against Calgary on Monday. Kyle Turris is with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman on the second line looking to make it happen out there tonight.
  • Kris Russell will make his preseason debut on a pair with Evan Bouchard while sporting a new number: 6. Coincidentally, I think 6 is the number of regular season games you’ll see before Kris Russell finds his way back into the top four.
  • Mike Smith missed Monday’s game with an illness, he’s expected to go the distance tonight in net. Can he put in a solid 60?

The game is on Sportsnet tonight, we’re one step closer to Wednesday’s opener against these Canucks. Let’s all have fun out there tonight.
