Morning, folks.
Let’s keep it brief, as we are wont to do on Mondays and, well, every other day:
It was reported yesterday that Josh Archibald has been diagnosed with myocarditis after a bout with COVID-19 over the summer. I can’t say I have much sympathy for the man, but I also can’t pretend the entire situation is anything other than profoundly sad.
The Oilers announced they’ve sent Ilya Konovalov, Philip Broberg, and Filip Berglund to Bakersfield, while also waiving Cooper Marody and Seth Griffith for the purpose of assignment.
The Calgary Flames are in town this evening for a little preseason action. Stay tuned for lineup information later today.

Your favourite group of Oiler critiques return to the microphones as the second season of the Copper & Blue Podcast gets underway. Preston, Shona, and Corey break down the lineup battles happening in the preseason and ponder how the Oilers will deploy their suddenly deep forward corp.
Stick around for the second half as the crew looks a little too deep into the opening lines of training camp and how they might change as the season progresses!
