GOALS!
Goals! You got goals? We’re looking for goals. The Oilers have scored just two goals in their last two games, they’re allowing the most shots per game in the league, and they’re no doubt desperate for a win. They begin their first of a four game road trip with a visit to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs. Connor McDavid and the rest of the Oilers will look to score a boatload of goals against a Leafs team filled with their own firepower.
Can the Oilers claim two points tonight?
THREE THINGS TO LOOK FOR
- As the post suggests: goals. Here is a short list of Oilers who have scored goals in the last 120 minutes of play: Slater Koekkoek, Devin Shore. That’s it. The Oilers will look to slice open a vat of goals tonight.
- Ethan Bear is back tonight, and he’s on the top pair with Darnell Nurse. Slater Koekkoek goes back to left defence with Adam Larsson while Kris Russell is with Tyson Barrie. William Lagesson will sit. The club looks especially vulnerable without Oscar Klefbom in the lineup, so it’ll be very good to have Ethan Bear back.
- Mikko Koskinen is starting his fifth straight game. His SV% is an underwhelming .897, though he did have a better game on Monday versus the Habs. A good outing would do wonders for this club’s confidence.
Let’s. Go. Oilers.
