Let’s dive right in:

Apparently, on TSN 1260 this morning, TSN’s Oilers beat reporter Ryan Rishaug suggested the above as part of his weekly hit.

If the Oilers make a deal that even resembles the above, I’m going to lose my goddamn mind.

There really isn’t anything else to say about it. It simply cannot happen. Imagine trading 14OV and Evan Bouchard for Oscar Klefbom, but then imagine that Klefbom is older, makes twice as much money, and is under contract for that outrageous amount for more than twice as long. That’s effectively what they’d be doing here.

I don’t care for Kris Russell, as we all know, but the Oilers’ top prospect and their middling first round pick are not kind of throw-ins I had in mind to grease the wheels on a Kris Russell deal. I don’t dislike him that much.

Here’s hoping this is simply media posturing. If it isn’t, I hope you’ll all stand by me as I demand for Ken Holland’s immediate resignation until at least the next season starts. Bob Nicholson’s, too, that absolute crook.
