Morning, folks!
In what I’d hope the punditry considers a bounce-back performance, we’re back at it bright and early on this fantastic Friday morning. Dare I say, on time?
Yesterday the Twitter account bore witness to some fervent debate sparked by comments from Elliotte Friedman’s latest 31 Thoughts:
Friedman spitballing a Klefbom trade on 31 Thoughts. Also mentioned that the Klefbom/Krug stuff was real.

And:
"I don't think he's dealing Nurse. I think he really thinks that Nurse is a huge part of their group & a guy who.really bleeds Oilers." - Friedman on Ken Holland

Which led me to wonder aloud:
If they move Klefbom over Nurse that is unquestionably a sign that the regime doesn't get it, no?

Oscar Klefbom is the team’s best defenseman and he’s on a lovely contract for three more seasons. If there is any merit to these latest rumors, it’s probably time to fire Ken Holland. Of course, these are insider rumors and they’re probably not worth much right now, but if there is literally any truth to it, the Oilers might want to find themselves a new GM. When Peter Chiarelli suggested trading Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson, he should have been let go immediately, before he could actually do that damage.
If Ken Holland truly believes that Nurse is more important than Klefbom — and more valuable to the Oilers moving forward — that’s a similar red flag for me. I don’t like it one bit.
