LEON = HART TROPHY FINALIST. #LetsGoOilers pic.twitter.com/qeuQSbhbKf
Today’s announcement is yet another feather in Herr Big Nuts’ cap after a wonderful individual campaign that already saw him become the first German to win the Art Ross earlier this summer.
With his inclusion among the finalists for the Ted Lindsay Award as well, Draisaitl could match Connor McDavid’s obscene trophy haul from his 2016-17 season.
15 players have won the Art Ross and Hart trophies in the same season. Only 10, including McDavid, have won all 3. Draisaitl looks to add his name to a list that includes Guy Lafleur, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Jaromir Jagr, Martin St. Louis, Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, and Patrick Kane.
Draisaitl joins Nathan MacKinnon and Artemiy Panarin — also finalists for the Ted Lindsay and Hart trophies — in the top 3, but who cares about them?
