Storm Brings Flooding To Rogers Place

Water damage occurred in Ford Hall, damage not thought to be serious

NHL: New York Islanders at Edmonton Oilers Perry Nelson-USA TODAY Sports

A wild storm brought heavy winds and significant rain to downtown Edmonton tonight.

The weather was so rough, that Rogers Place suffered what looked to be some significant water intake.

The majority of damage appears to have been confined to Ford Hall.

Fortunately, it looks worse than it actually is. The water damage isn’t expected to cause a significant hang up with regards to the NHL’s return to play status. Exhibition games are expected to be played in less than two weeks, including Edmonton’s exhibition against Calgary on July 28th.

The Oilers will be back in action tomorrow for day 5 of their July training camp.
