It’s Draft Lottery Day!

Sure, the NHL does not yet know where they’ll be playing, but they’ve got a rough idea about when they’ll start and might as well figure out which team has a shot at the newest, bestest teenager way before all of that other stuff is figured out, right?!

Sure, we don’t even technically know which team will finish where but who gives a shit, right?!

Ah, well.

Five years ago today the Edmonton Oilers changed their franchise for the better when they drafted Connor McDavid on June 26th, 2015. Fifteen minutes after that they did irreversible damage to their franchise when they traded for Griffin Reinhart using the pick that would become Mat Barzal and another pick that could have become Sebastian Aho.
