Morning, folks!
The 2020 NHL Draft Lottery is just over a week away! This is traditionally the Oilers’ time to shine, but with a play-in series looming, hopefully they won’t be in the conversation this time round.
Ethan Bear and Caleb Jones were important additions last season, but they’re still young and there will still be growing pains.
Yesterday the University of Alberta announced that it had made the tough decision to shutter its men’s and women’s hockey, volleyball, and basketball programs for the 2020-2021 academic year, citing budgetary concerns. This is a big blow to the university and the Edmonton community. It’s worth noting that these cuts are also closing down at least one library on campus, which could be considered as big a blow to an institution of such stature.
TSN’s Gord Miller released his Hart Ballot. Have a look:
I went 1.Draisaitl, 2.MacKinnon, 3.McDavid, 4. Hellebuyck, 5. Pastrnak. I didn’t like leaving Panarin and Ovechkin off. https://t.co/8og1oO9buB
