Morning, folks!

Brendan Leipsic is a fucking loser. So is that other tweener, Jack Rodewald. I hope neither of these morons plays another shift in the NHL. Leipsic’s been on five teams in five years at 25 years old, so he’s a perfect candidate to be forgotten forever. Yesterday was the first time I’d heard the words Jack and Rodewald together. Let’s hope this is the last time we hear about either of them.

All of this is to say it remains a huge disappointment that the Oilers didn’t terminate Brandon Manning’s contract on the spot after he resorted to racism against Ontario’s Bokondji Imama. Though, it was nice to see Imama beat the brakes off him in the rematch.

All this is to say that, quite clearly, hockey still isn’t for everyone, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a cop. Or Bill Daly.

That out of the way, let’s get into it:

Oilers Nation spoke to Uffe Bodin about Philip Broberg.

A story about how the Stanley Cup disappeared before Game 7 of the 1987 Stanley Cup Finals.

Shouldst thou covet thy Neighbours? Lowetide wonders if the Oilers might (or should) take former Oil King in the upcoming Draft.

Did Riley Sheahan do enough this year to earn another contract with the Oilers?

SportsNet and Connor McDavid are partnering to break down five of his favorite goals to date, starting with a lovely between-the-legs number against the Dallas Stars.

Oilers Nation is hosting an Oilers Trivia Night on Wednesday, May 13th at 5:30pm MST. Friends of mine from New York have been running a pub trivia via Zoom every Wednesday for the past 7 weeks, and it’s been a lot of fun. Might be worth checking this out!

A roundtable with former Oilers Jarret Stoll, Dwayne Roloson, and Ethan Moreau, talking 2006 cup run.

Ken Holland is short his usual allotment of picks for the upcoming Draft. Might he wheel and/or deal for a few more? Can he?

A few months ago, it seemed like the Oilers had almost too much organizational depth in defense. Then Ethan Bear and Caleb Jones graduated. Now it’s time to stock it back up.
