Morning, folks!
Sorry for the delay, was a bit tied up this AM and, I mean, what even is a routine now that we’re going on 9+ weeks of isolation/quarantine/whatever it is you’re doing at this point in the pandemic.
Smoke is certainly gathering in terms of the NHL returning — and Edmonton being one of its two hub cities for their proposed 24-team playoff — despite the fact that, in places like Ontario, daily COVID-19 cases are starting to increase again. Hmm. I’d still rather they bin the whole thing, especially if the proposal includes the Oilers having to play a play-in game against Chicago for a playoff spot they already occupy. It all seems a bit ridiculous, and I know that if I were the Oilers, I wouldn’t be helping the league out only for the league to screw me like that. But I digress.

Tyler Ennis joined the Oilers at the trade deadline after a flurry of activity saw them try to position themselves for a playoff run. How did he do? Should the Oilers bring him back?
The latest 31 Thoughts Podcast released, talking about a number of topics, including Matt Duchene’s thoughts about the playoffs, hub cities, the CHL lawsuit, and more.
This summer, Ken Holland will have to make another decision about the goaltenders.
The Oilers are confident that they are among the leading contenders to be an NHL hub city for the resumption of the 2019-20 season and/or playoffs.
