Morning Oilers fans!

Hopefully you and your family had a wonderful 4/20/20. We won’t see another one in our lifetime. Let’s get to it:

Lowetide posts that Ken Holland will be looking to get more from the Bakersfield Condors than the previous regime(s).

Sportsnet is replaying the 1987 Stanley Cup Final that saw the Edmonton Oilers defeat the Philadelphia Flyers in 7 games.

For subscribers to The Athletic, the operation is running a Fan Survey, giving readers an opportunity to sound off about various topics pertaining to the state of the club. Questions like, “How confident are you in Bob Nicholson?” and “Should the Oilers pursue Taylor Hall in free agency?” make up the bulk of the survey.

For the record — yes, they should. Or, they should have. The flat cap (which still seems optimistic to me, mind) almost ensures that they can’t. Or, at least, won’t.

Former Oilers prospect Ryan Mantha’s career was derailed before it ever really got going, due to a freak blood clot in his eye that caused him to lose his straight-away sight.

Colby and Emily Cave planned to adopt a child from Haiti before his tragic passing. Emily sat down with The Athletic to talk about her late husband, and life after loss.

The Athletic also took a look at a variety of discount UFA forwards that might be of interest to the Oilers this summer.

Former Oilers 3OV draft pick F Jesse Puljujarvi is up for the Young Player of the Year award by the Alliance of European Hockey Clubs. The young right winger had a wonderful campaign in Finland and, as per a conference call earlier this year, there is a better-than-zero chance that he plays another game in Edmonton for the Oilers.

Jasons Strudwick and Gregor sat down with Doug Weight to reminisce about the 1997 series against the Dallas Stars.

That’ll do it for today, folks. Stay inside, stay safe, and we’ll see you on the other side.
