Morning, Oilers fans!

Yesterday, in partnership with the Cave family, the Edmonton Oilers announced the creation of the Colby Cave Memorial Fund. The fund will aim to support mental health initiatives, as well as programs to provide access to sports for underprivileged children. Emily Cave, Colby’s wife, will spearhead the fund.

Lowetide briefly touched on Cooper Marody’s tough season, and looked at the NHLe for prospects 41-60 in this year’s upcoming draft.

In October 2010, Jordan Eberle made his Edmonton Oilers debut in that season’s home opener against the Calgary Flames. What he did that night will stand atop the list of ‘best first goals’ for years to come.

A look at what Ken Holland came into here, and what’s ahead for him in building the 2020-21 Oilers roster.

Former Oiler Eric Gryba among those who celebrated Colby Cave’s life along Highway 16 in Saskatchewan.

Bob Nicholson spoke to the media yesterday and covered a number of topics. First, and most importantly, the creation of the Colby Cave Memorial Fund. He also touched on finishing the 2019-20 season, and potential start dates for the 2020-21 campaign.

William Lagesson was firmly on the bubble this season after both Ethan Bear and Caleb Jones made the full-time jump to the Oilers roster. Lagesson got a few NHL games in himself this season but often found himself watching from the press box in Edmonton. The Oilers have a difficult decision to make with this player.
