The Oilers keep rolling thanks to a gargantuan effort from Mikko Koskinen, who posted 42 saves en route to an overtime win in Dallas.

Morning, folks!

Another morning we wake up with good vibes after the Oilers absolutely stole two points from the rather impressive Dallas Stars last night. Dallas controlled the proceedings from start to finish, but went behind early thanks to arguably the best PP the league’s ever seen. That platform proved to be enough, as despite conceding the tying goal in the third period, they managed to get the game to overtime and win it on the back of Alex Chiasson’s heroics. Lovely.

Game recaps dominate the links today, which makes sense given they played two in two nights and there isn’t much time for anything else.

Jujhar Khaira moved into the middle in place of Gaetan Haas (scratched), and seemed to play well enough to earn positive reviews from Head Coach Dave Tippett.

James Neal returned to the lineup for the first time since the New Year, and made a few good plays. He had a few good looks, too, but thankfully for those hoping the Oilers keep their conditional third round pick, didn’t cash in any of them.

Caleb Jones has been seeing more and more ice on Edmonton’s left side in Oscar Klefbom’s absence. It will be curious to see how Tippett deploys his defenders when Edmonton’s 1D comes back.

A much-needed off day awaits Edmonton before heading to the Windy City tomorrow night for a clash with the Chicago Blackhawks. Coming in you’d have thought that the Chicago game was the most winnable of the three, so coming into it with four points already gained from this road trip is a boon.

Ken Holland made a media appearance at the GM meetings in Florida, suggesting that he’s happy where he’s at with his roster right now. Hard to blame him, really.
