What a night in Nashville. The Oilers went absolutely bonkers last night in the third period, scoring five goals in just over five minutes in their massive 8-3 victory.
Unfortunately, Nashville then experienced actual death and destruction, after two deadly tornadoes tore through the city. This morning we’re thinking of our friends over at On the Forecheck, and wishing all the best to everyone in the area.
OTF has provided some information in case you’d like to help out:
We’ve started a running list of ways you can help those impacted by last night’s storms, as well as a list of resources for those who may need help today. https://t.co/uRH7QibUlE— On The Forecheck (@OnTheForecheck) March 3, 2020
The Oilers are in Dallas tonight to take on the Stars in their second game in as many nights. Hopefully the mojo they found in the third period last night will carry through to tonight, as Dallas will be a tough out for our heroes.
James Neal is apparently past his injury troubles, and might draw back into the lineup tonight. Oscar Klefbom will sit this one out while eyeing a return in Chicago on Thursday.
The Oilers moved 3 points clear of Calgary for second in the pacific with a game in hand, but still trail Las Vegas by 2 points for the Pacific Division lead.
Lowetide took a look at the effect the Oilers trade deadline deals might have on their summer plans.
Young Willis proffers that Dave Tippett’s willingness to split up Connor McDavid has saved the Oilers season.
And don’t forget — it’s another GAMEDAY — so wheel it back around later this morning to get acquainted with Dallas in our GAME PREVIEW and then stop on by for a chat in our GAME THREAD. We’ll be there. Or, one of us will be. Probably.
