There’s some good news to brighten your day.
The Oilers have inked forward Raphael Lavoie to a three year entry-level deal.
Lavoie was the 38th overall selection in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. the QMJHL star spent all of last season in Halifax where tied for third in scoring with 73 points (32-41-73). The Moosheads lost in the finals to Royun-Noranda, but Lavoie led his club in scoring with 32 points in the playoffs (20-12-32 in 23 GP).
Lavoie put up 26 points in 30 games with Halifax this season before being dealt to Chicoutimi where he put up 38 points (20-18-38) in 25 games. He’s a big timer in the Q (9th overall in scoring this year), let’s watch it grow en route to the NHL.
Lavoie can play centre or wing, which will no doubt come in handy on his quest to make the big club in a year or two. Bakersfield awaits the young forward, who will be 20 in September. He’ll be one to watch at training camp 2020.
