Back at it from home base tonight as the Oilers (28-20-6) welcome the percolating Nashville Predators (26-20-7), who are riding a mini-high after after winning four of their last five games, including wins over Winnipeg and Calgary.

Edmonton is languishing some, after a couple of bad games in a row that saw them drop four key points to division rivals Arizona and San Jose midweek.

What to Look For

Zack Kassian will return to the right side of Connor McDavid, after being returned to the top line after returning to the bottom half for parts of the San Jose game. Sam Gagner will remain on his left as James Neal once again misses out through injury.

William Lagesson will return to the press box as Caleb Jones re-enters the lineup beside Matt Benning, while Mike Smith gets the nod in net after a rough outing from Mikko Koskinen last time out.

The Oilers felt a bit of Dave Tippett’s wrath after practice yesterday after not liking what he saw from his charges. Look for an inspired start — at least — from his hockey club tonight who will be looking to respond in kind.

The Oilers are Saying

“Don’t turn the puck over in our own end.”

— Oilers Head Coach Dave Tippett, when asked what his message was to the players during his eruption at practice.

The Predators are Saying

“When pucks are going in, that’s when the confidence comes,”

— Predators F Mikael Granlund speaking after Nashville’s victory over those degenerates in Calgary earlier this week.

Have Some of This
