One more sleep before our heroes are back in action at home against the powerhouse Boston Bruins (37-11-12) tomorrow night.

Connor McDavid will miss out again through injury but the Oilers have gone 3-1-0 in his absence with Leon Draisaitl going absolutely bonkers to the tune of 3-7-10 in those games and earning the NHL’s First Star of the week for his efforts.

Yesterday marked the end of another segment, and therefore another segment review from Czechboy.

Lowetide took a look at the first two rounds (top 62 prospects) in the 2020 draft over at his own site, and dove into the differences between Jesse Puljujarvi’s road to the NHL against Leon Draisaitl and Kailer Yamamoto’s.

We’re less than a week from the trade deadline, so it’s time — well, long past time if you ask me — to figure out what the goddamn plan is to give this team a bit more in the name of a playoff run.

Ken Holland is reportedly coveting cost certainty at the deadline, which makes sense. One can’t help but remember that Jonathan Huberdeau made TSN’s trade bait board just last season. He’s under control for a few more years at LESS THAN $6MM per. If I’m Holland, that’s where I’m looking first, if control is the buzzword. Florida is hanging by a thread and they’re a year removed from putting Huberdeau in play, so why not kick a few Firestones?!
