When you beat the Stanley Cup Champions at home, things are going good. The Oilers doubled up the St. Louis Blues last night by a 4-2 score. Edmonton got two big ones from Leon, while Caleb Jones scored his first of the year. Josh Archibald picked Perron’s pocket late in the third period while the Blues were on the power play and tucked it into a yawning net to seal the deal.
The Oilers and Flames are tied in the standings with 60 points, though Edmonton has a game in hand. They can claim sole possession of second place with any kind of a win tonight. Can the Oilers make it two wins in two nights?
THREE THINGS TO LOOK FOR
10 consecutive games with a point AND he leads the League in points.

- Leon Draisaitl is leading the NHL in points after last night’s two goal performance. He’s currently at 79 points, and he’ll do everything in his power to make it 80+ tonight.
- Mike Smith gets the nod tonight for the Oilers after Mikko Koskinen picked up the W hosting the Blues. Smith will no doubt have revenge on his mind after David Rittich picked up the shootout victory against the Oilers just four days ago.
- No word from Dave Tippett yet, but tonight’s got to be the night that Tyler Benson makes his NHL debut, yeah? The lights don’t get any brighter than the BOA. Let’s see what you got, kid.
Let’s. Go. Oilers.
