Holloway out with upper-body injury

The 2020 first round pick will be out of Canada’s preliminary game against Slovakia

Some bad news coming from the 2021 World Junior Championships as Oilers pick, Dylan Holloway will be out of the lineup. His absence is the result of an upper-body injury suffered in Canada’s 16-2 win against Germany on Saturday. His status is labelled as day-to-day.

Holloway was able to pick up one assist in Canada’s opening game and showed well when it came to puck possession and protection. Buffalo Sabres prospect, Jack Quinn, will take his place on Canada’s second line in Sunday afternoon’s matchup against Slovakia.

Linemates Dylan Cozens (3-3-6) and Alex Newhook (2-1-3) will look to add to their point totals after an impressive showing against the Germans. Holloway is expected to recover from the injury and might be able to rejoin the lineup as soon as Tuesday’s matchup against Switzerland.

Due to the injury, there won’t be a postgame “Holloway Watch” for tonight’s Canada v. Slovakia game as previously planned.
