Collegiate Co-Rookie Of The Week Honours Go To Oilers Prospect Carter Savoie

Oilers’ fourth round selection from 2020 now has six goals in six NCAA games

Savoie firing on all cylinders for Denver

2020 Oilers draft pick Carter Savoie is making the most of a hot start in Denver.

Savoie was awarded co-rookie of the week honours by the National College Hockey Conference after going 2-1-3 in three games. Savoie’s impressive week is even more impressive when you factor in that he’s now got six goals in six games (6-2-8).

Savoie currently leads DU in scoring with eight points. He’s also 17th overall in the entire NCAA Division I program, which is a heck of a way to begin your freshman year at university. Is this just a hot start, or will Savoie keep the good times rolling?

Hey, when you’re hot, you’re hot.

A fourth round selection of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft (taken at 100th overall), Savoie finished second in total scoring in the Alberta Junior league when he had a 99 point season for Sherwood Park (53-46-99). Savoie is showing no signs of slowing down early on in his collegiate career. Keep your eyes on Savoie to see if he can keep filling the net as the season goes on.
