Oof.
That’s a lot of minor league pros finding themselves without work for the winter. Maybe for the older guys, they’ll have a bit of cash banked and less trouble finding other jobs, but for the younger, longshot NHL prospects on those teams this represents a significant obstacle to their development and chances at making the bigs.
The ECHL wasn’t the only league to call things off this week, either:

With most of the jobs overseas already filled, it’s going to be quite difficult for any of these guys to find meaningful work at this late stage, and begs the question:
