1m for Ennis
— Ryan Rishaug (@TSNRyanRishaug) October 9, 2020
Tyler Ennis will be returning to the Edmonton Oilers in 2021.
The Oilers have re-signed Ennis to a one year deal valued at $1MM, which is great. Turris at 1.65 and Ennis at 1MM are two sensible deals for Ken Holland today.
Ennis was acquired last season at the trade deadline from Ottawa for a fifth round draft pick. He finished last year’s regular season with 37 points in 70 games (2-2-4 in 9 GP with Edmonton). He had 2 points (1-1-2) in three games during the play-in series versus Chicago before he broke his leg. He’s ahead of schedule in recovery, and he will likely begin skating next week. That’s good news!
Ennis, (like Turris) is a good third line option when everyone is healthy. He doesn’t look out of place for a spell on either of the top lines either.
This is a solid deal at a nice price that will more than likely pay off for the Oilers.
