Morning, folks!
A bit late this AM but it is what it is. The Oilers are in Montreal tonight (FINALLY!) after two excruciatingly long days off, where they’ll take on a Canadiens team that’s really struggling, having lost seven (!!!) games in a row heading in.
Edmonton were the victors last time around, too, taking a 4-3 decision in Edmonton shortly before Christmas.
Connor McDavid will look to impress on a big stage once more after finalizing his adoption of Morgan Reilly on national TV the other night. Leon Draisaitl’s game appears to be turning the corner, too, and his new line with Kailer Yamamoto and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has benefited.
Mike Smith will get the nod for the fourth straight game tonight, which makes one wonder what’s really going on with Mikko Koskinen more than anything else. Sure, it’s easy enough to ride the hot hand, but Smith was sub-.900 last time out in the win over Toronto.
That’ll about do it for me, get yourselves fed, read, and back here for our typical GAMEDAY coverage throughout the day. See you tonight!
