Morning, folks!

Another tough morning follows another tough night for our heroes, who couldn’t manage a pivotal road victory against the very much struggling Buffalo Sabres. One more point gone (thanks, Bettman!) and two less up for grabs as time starts to tick down on the rest of their season.

Mike Smith made the start last night and, while I missed the game myself, it appears he was his typical self. Questionable efforts on both regulation goals and another two goal lead proven anything but safe. Ah, well. It’s not like it was plainly obvious to anyone with eyes that he was cooked even last year.

It doesn’t get any easier next, with Edmonton having an off/travel day today as they head to Boston in preparation for an 11AM MST start on Saturday morning.
