We’re officially over the hump, heading downhill toward the NHL’s All Star Weekend. The skills competition will kick things off on Friday night before the ‘big game’ on Saturday. Well, big games. OK, games. Fine. “Games”.

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl — recently named among the top 5 players in the NHL by TSN — headline the Pacific Division outfit, and will no doubt feature in the Friday night showcase as well. McDavid’s documentary, “Well, Actually, My Leg Was Fucked” airs right after we’re treated to about 7 drills over the span of 2+ hours. McDavid might be a Masterton Trophy favorite after his superhuman comeback.

Peter Chiarelli was fired one year ago today. Remember that if you happen to suffer a stubbed toe or paper cut this afternoon.

The Athletic released the Oilers player poll yesterday after giving the team an opportunity to call out Gaetan Haas for packing light on his first week-long road trip.
