Morning, everyone!

I don’t know about you but Fantasy Football was such an ordeal yesterday it took most of my wherewithal just to suffer it. At least, that’s how I’m explaining my building headache this morning.

Where were we? The Oilers and Flames rookies duked it out in Red Deer with our future heroes losing 1-0 in an otherwise chippy affair. Reviews of various key players highlight the bulk of Oilers news over the weekend. Take some of them with whatever grains of whatever seasonings you prefer.

The two sides square off again tomorrow night in the Windy FluShot.

Connor McDavid skated over the weekend and he looked gosh darn good doing it, but he couldn’t commit to anything more than ‘working toward’ being ready for opening night. If it takes until next year, wait until next year. That’s what I say.

Otherwise, the big news has to be Bianca Andreescu winning the US Open, becoming the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam in singles. Arguably one of the greatest moments in Canadian sports ever. An huge achievement, and hopefully you were able to watch it on Saturday!
