Morning, folks!

Nothing better than the Monday morning after you win your fantasy football matchup, am I right? Here’s hoping the FF deities smiled upon you yesterday, too. But not you. You know who you are.

The Oilers wrapped their preseason schedule on Saturday night with a game against the Flames in Calgary. Calgary managed to win on the back of goals from Milan Lucic and Tobias Rieder, while the Oilers dressed a few more tweeners in the name of gathering information.

The NHL season begins for real this week! The Oilers mark the start of theirs with a game against the Canucks on Wednesday at Rogers Place. LFG.

In advance of their regular season debut, the Oilers still have to navigate a handful of cuts. It will be interesting to follow the news from the organization over the next 24-48 hours, to say the least.

A few more bits and bobs to tie the weekend together but I’ll stop here and let you dig in, as Monday’s links are always plentiful. Enjoy, and we’ll see you tomorrow.
