The Oilers resume their preseason campaign this evening with a visit to the Winnipeg Jets. Lineup information hasn’t yet been released but given the limited numbers in camp, expect it to look pretty similar to what the Oilers inevitably trot out opening night.
With Shane Starrett and Evan Bouchard assigned to Bakersfield, the Oilers have fewer than ten cuts left to make. Tonight’s game will prove critical for some of those bubble players.
Joel Persson suffered a shoulder injury against Arizona, and will be out for 7-10 days, leaving the door wide open for Ethan Bear to step up and make the team while he’s out on injured reserve.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins also picked up a knock in that game, so keep your eyes peeled for more updates on RNH’s status throughout the day. The Oilers certainly can’t afford him to miss any regular season time.
Without further ado, let’s get right into it.
