This feels a lot like what we could see next Wednesday in Vancouver for the season opener.
THREE THINGS TO LOOK FOR
- TAKE ME TO THE CAPTAIN: Connor McDavid is back for his first preseason action of the year, and the masses shouldn’t be happier. Now’s the time to show that he can do everything without restriction. Scoring a goal would be fun to watch, too.
- SMITH IN NET: Speaking of players making their 2019 preseason debuts, Mike Smith is slated to go two periods tonight. He’s looking to rebound from a suspect 2018-19, he gets his feet wet in Oiler colours tonight.
- Joel Persson is my defeceman to watch. Not only do I believe he’ll make the club out of camp, I don’t think it’s crazy talk that we’ll see him on the second pair in ten games.
Let’s all have fun out there.
