Morning, all!

The Edmonton Oilers squared off with the Winnipeg Jets last night in preseason action. Note that we won’t necessarily have the same depth of coverage for some preseason games that we will during the season, it’s just the way it goes sometimes. BUT - the Oilers didn’t take the night off, skating to a 2-0 victory on the back of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and James Neal tallies.

The Oilers play six more preseason games before the regular season officially begins in early October, with their next contest slated for tonight against the Vancouver Canucks. Stay tuned for lineup info and game coverage later today.

The NHLPA announced yesterday that they would NOT be reopening CBA negotiations, meaning the current deal will run until the end of the 2022 season. No lockout for at least another year, in other words. Nice.

More news and notes from camp to round out your reading list for the day. Have a good one, we’ll see you tomorrow.
